Nature Photography Trips & Workshops:

     Bob Adkins, local photographer and guide.

Eagle Preserve Tours:

    Several Haines tour companies provide daily tours to the Bald Eagle Preserve throughout the year.

Totem Pole Carving and Native Arts:

    Alaska Indian Arts, Inc. in historic Fort Seward, daily tours of their large studios. Watch artists at work.

Museum/Cultural Center Exhibits and Events:

    Sheldon Museum and Haines Library, outstanding ongoing cultural exhibits and events.

Bald Eagle Education Presentations at the American Bald Eagle Foundation:

    American Bald Eagle Foundation, 250 wildlife exhibits and educational videos and displays.

Live Animal Wildlife Center Tours: (Lynx, Fox, Coyote, Caribou, Wolverines much more…)

     Kroschel Films Wildlife Center, 45 trained wild animals, stars of photography and film,  rare photo opps galore!

Autumn/Winter Bird Watching:

     American Bald Eagle Preserve, 48,000 acres, Eagles, Ducks, Swans, Magpies, Ravens, Seagulls, more…

Nature Walks:

     Guided and independent nature walks, extensive trail system near town and along the Haines Highway.

Cross Country Skiing/Instruction:

     Alaska Nature Tours, equipment sales and rentals, guiding and instruction.

Snow Shoeing:

     Alaska Nature Tours, equipment sales and rentals, guiding and instruction.

Snowmobiling - Chilkat Snow Burners:

    Oval track races at 25 Mile, the great Alcan 200 Road Race mid-January, trail riding.

Winter Sport Fishing:

     Late-run Coho through December in the Chilkat River, Dolly Varden river and ice fishing.

Haines Theater:

     Scheduled play productions by the High School and Lynn Canal Community Players.

Concert Series:

     Weekend concert series sponsored by the Haines Arts Council and the Haines Schools.

Drumming/Rhythm Circles/Creative Dance:

     “Live Vibes” Coffee House on weekends when no concerts or plays are scheduled, all participate.

Yoga Classes:

     Regular Tuesday and Thursday classes at 5:00PM at the Chilkat Center, beginners welcome.

Karate Classes:

     Scheduled weekly classes at the Chilkat Center

Theater Workshops:

     Lynn Canal Community Players, as scheduled - movement, costume making, speech, more…

Aurora Watching & Wolf Songs (nighttime):

     8-Mile, 22-Mile Haines Hwy.turnouts.  Wild Wolf packs across the Chilkat River serenade the stars and Aurora.

Haines Swimming Pool and Gym: Full size pool, adult swimming morning, noon and night except Sunday.

Low-chlorine Saltwater purification system! Evening Gym hours for adults, basketball, volleyball, Fun! Get in Shape!

Flightseeing:

    LAB Flying and Skagway Air. Eagle Preserve and Glacier Bay National Park scenic flights.
